A journey through the Uffizi masterpieces
The glamour classical mythology exercised on European culture from the Middle Ages up to our days is huge: the gods' fables, the allegorical personifications, the historyof man, interpreted as a day-dream, have kept a vitality that has crossed the limits of time. In this volume, edited by a young studious, Raffaella Pastore, we propose an ideal journey through a sample of profane works to the Uffizi: From Botticelli's Birth of Venus to Tintoretto's Leda and the Swan up to Caravaggio's Medusa.
