Erica Sandonnini, curious and dreamy, with her nose always on the lookout for new odours, has embarked on a path that has transformed her passion into a future to be 'tasted'.

Introducing the world of terpenes, which determine the aromatic component of Vitis vinifera L. grapes, the author, with a scientific-disclosing approach, leads the reader to the identification of the different elements that give rise to the unique and extraordinary character of each wine, i.e. its Terroir: the soil, the water supply, the availability of nitrogen and the ripening of the berries.

The basic idea of the book is that through the olfactory analysis of the terpenes of a wine, it is really possible to understand the Terroir that gave birth to it!

The book closes with a number of in-depth entries, including the presentation of the Tempio del Brunello, an immersive and emotional journey to discover Brunello di Montalcino and its specific Terroir.
