In Limine

Proceedings of the national conference of studies held at the ‘D. Cimarosa’ Conservatory of Music in Avellino in 2021, in which experts in the field addressed one of the most curious and popular musical expressions of the Italian musical panorama at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.

Among the speeches by scholars from the main Italian music conservatories (Ferrara, Milan, Pescara...), mention should be made of Maurizio Torelli's remarkable essay on Francesco Paolo Tosti, a composer from Abruzzo who became famous in London. 

Or recall the inescapable union between music and texts by well-known authors such as Ildebrando Pizzetti and Salvatore Di Giacomo recounted by Maestro Fiorella Taglialatela, who is also editor of the volume together with Maestro Mauro Amato.

The volume is the second in the series STUDI E TESTI of the Musicology Department of the ‘D. Cimarosa’ Conservatory of Music in Avellino.
