The monumental sculpture Site transitoire by the French artist Jean-Paul Philippe is a free work inspired by the uniqueness of the nature of the Sienese Crete where it was installed in 1993.

The sculpture has always been a source of inspiration and has been supported by great writers such as Antonio Tabucchi, Bernard Noël and Antonio Prete and by internationally renowned artists who have brought their creations to the Site transitoire, transforming "the Site" into a cultural place appreciated by a vast public. It was the writer Tahar Ben Jelloun who defined Jean-Paul Philippe as a poet of space.

This publication was released 30 years after the installation of this monumental work. The book, edited by Alessandra Rey, President of the Site transitoire Association, collects the shots taken by photographer Alessandro Griccioli, who followed the sculptor for over a year in the various stages of his work, and then produces an exhibition that takes us from the Site transitoire to the creation in the atelier of the sketches for the sculpture Résonances, to the Rapolano quarries where it was worked on, to its installation at La Roque d'Anthéron, to the exhibition at the Jeanne Bucher Jaeger gallery and concludes at 'Évidence(S)', the atelier that Jean-Paul Philippe recently opened in Périgny sur Yerres.
