The most subversive artist of all time returns to Italy with an irreverent exhibition

Chinese artist and dissident Ai Weiwei returns to Italy and in the splendid setting of Palazzo Fava with a new exhibition of his most famous works.

These include the silk and bamboo kites from the series based on the Chinese folk tales Shanhai Jing, then the reproduction of famous works with Lego bricks, including the Sleeping Venus (by Giorgione) denouncing the practice of clandestine abortions in his country of origin, then a version of Leonardo's famous Mona Lisa with a Last Supper (where the artist has self-portrayed himself) and those created especially for the occasion: Atalanta and Hyppomene (after Guido Reni), the Ecstasy of Saint Cecilia (after Raphael), and the Still Life (after Giorgio Morandi) and then the famous vases.

The exhibition, curated by Arturo Galansino, one of the most authoritative critics in the field of contemporary art and a profound connoisseur of Ai Weiwei, presents the story of this great artist whose art of denunciation and provocation is among the most popular in the world.
