The catalogue is part of the celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the Pitti Palace Gallery of Modern Art. 

In the Spring of 1914 the first exhibition was set in the Gallery, in the Società di Belle Arti located in via della Colonna, an important international exhibition dedicated solely to the "Black and White".

Fontanesi and Previati, Adolfo De Carolis: a considerable space was given to little-known artists at that time, of the Engraving School of Celestini, such as the young Bernardini. 

Hundreds of people came from all over the world. An uncommon, extraordinary event reflecting the variety of interests of the Florentine society.
