Museums are not only custodians of heritages of history and beauty, but can and must be vital centres capable of dialogue with the city, of promoting activities and relations, of being part of communities.

Florentine museums with their diverse scientific, naturalistic, archaeological, historical-artistic and ethno-anthropological expertise offer a wealth of cultural insights and reconstruct the city's history with the economic, cultural and civic potential developed over the centuries.

Even the smaller Florentine museums have their own story to tell that is also a piece of Florence's history. Each of them offers its own view, its own point of view.

This publication is also concrete proof of an ability to network.

Starting from this assumption, the Welcome Firenze Network wanted to create a circuit of museums that, while respecting their own specific identity, have given light to a wide-ranging cultural offer, destined not only for the Florentines but which, through various communication systems - among others tested and used during the Covid pandemic - has reached real and virtual users, lovers of the arts and sciences, from many foreign countries.
