L'architettura dei Barsotti fotografi
exhibition catalogue by Gabriella Carapelli and Mauro Cozzi
Modern architecture photographed black & white by the Barsotti
An extraordinary photobook documenting the activity of the renowned Barsotti photographers: Ferdinando and his son Gino. From the late 19th century until 1982 they narrated through their cameras the evolution of Florence and beyond, capturing the works commissioned in those years to architects such as Vincenzo Micheli, Giovanni Michelazzi, Ugo Giusti, Raffaello Fagnoni, Nello Baroni, Pietro Porcinai, Gino Coppedè.
A series of pictures depicts the construction of the Stadium, Santa Maria Novella Station, the Scuola di Guerra Aerea or the many screens opened in the city, such as Rex, Cinema Teatro Capitol, or the recent highway church by Michelucci.
