Erbario tossico

The Erbario tossico (Toxic Herbarium) is a manual to get to know the plants of the Mediterranean vegetation found on the beautiful Isle of Capraia. Among the islands of the Tuscan Archipelago Natural Park, Capraia is the furthest from the mainland, the one that has preserved the most rugged and uncontaminated natural environment. A natural heritage to be known, safeguarded and respected.

The book is the culmination of a project sponsored by the PNAT Park, thanks to which dozens of botanical essences typical of the Mediterranean vegetation have been catalogued and listed, each with its scientific name and characteristics.

A book, a herbarium, that offers a useful and entertaining contribution to start exploring the plant world around us in a creative and ironic way: spontaneous herbs, small plants of the Mediterranean vegetation, perhaps not so well known, that can be an effective remedy against different types of toxicity, from egocentrism to body shaming.

The Erbario tossico is only the first in a trilogy of books on plants, entitled Flower Power. Inside this volume you will find lots of colourful stickers to 'play' with Capraia's plants and their natural characteristics.
