Il Ratto delle Sabine e il suo restauro

The book focuses on the restoration of the Rape of the Sabine Women by Giambologna, a studio model in marble under the Lanzi loggia. It features a technical section dedicated to the actual restoration process, and an addendum reporting the life of the model since its early days, a payment receipt for its transportation from the workshop of Palazzo della Signoria to the house-studio of Borgo Pinti in April 1588, until its museum entry in 1911, when it was first exposed in the right wing of the Tribuna of the Galleria dell'Accademia.
