A hundred years after his death, the spirit of Amedeo Modigliani returns with all his greatness in the Tuscan city where he was born.

Starting from November 7, the Museo della Città in Livorno has been hosting a large exhibition dedicated to the artist: 134 masterpieces of the so-called École de Paris and among these 26 works by Modigliani.

The exhibition was organized by the Municipality of Livorno together with the Institute Restellini in Paris, led by Marc Restellini, an art historian and one of the greatest specialists in the works of the Livorno painter.

In addition to Modigliani's masterpieces, the book brings together the greatest works from the collections of Jonas Netter and Paul Alexandre. They themselves were protagonists of this important historical moment, together with the great artists that they decided to promote and that, today for the first time, we can admire on display in Livorno.

The volume, as well as being a catalogue, also aims to be a guide to the artistic personalities around the figure of Modigliani (including Soutine, Valadon, Utrillo, Kisling, Derain to name a few). The reader will find their biographies narrated in a captivating style which draws a real portrait of the unforgettable Paris of the beginning of the XX century. Along with the large images of the 134 works on display, the reader will also find a rich array of period photographs.

A concise and useful timeline completes the information about this unrepeatable moment of artistic explosion and cosmopolitan coexistence of great personalities of art, literature and science.
