Nuovi percorsi a Villa La Quiete

Between Careggi and Castello, in a strip of the Medici countryside, on which stand out the Villas of Castello, Petraia, and Careggi, there is also Villa La Quiete. Since 2017, the Villa has been included in the Museum System of the Florentine University: Villa La Quiete is, in fact, a place of knowledge and a place of beauty. Following the recovery and enhancement operations of recent years, here is now the rearrangement of two particularly evocative historical environments: the first of the two frescoed rooms on the ground floor, once belonging to the apartment of Anna Maria Luisa de' Medici, Electress Palatine, who chose La Quiete as a summer residence, and the large shelter that precedes it. Villa La Quiete is, in fact, also a place of memory: thanks to these interventions, the rooms retain their original furnishings and their monumental dignity, underlined by the return of the wax group of the Lamentation over the Dead Christ, by Massimiliano Soldani Benzi, and the bust in semi-precious stones depicting the Grand Duchess Vittoria della Rovere, by Giuseppe Antonio Torricelli.
